The Road Back is Chris Manning's first instrumental album. The album's unique approach to the acoustic guitar brings a smooth, contemporary sound reminiscent of New Age artist Craig Chaquico. Elegant melodies, memorable hooks, and catchy instrumentals paint exotic musical images. Bringing his own signature sound is Nashville keyboardist Christopher Sanderson. Songs from the album have been featured on MP3.COM and Mystic Dreams has scaled the top of the MP3.COM New Age charts. "Gorgeous guitar sound, great
production" "This is an outstanding instrumental album... an album
not to be missed" |

This song features a diverse mix of both electric and acoustic sounds
blended with piano and orchestrated strings. The outro section combines interwoven
melodies to create a climactic effect.. |

| This
song was actually written two years ago, but as we began to rehearse it, we reworked a few
sections. A real epic featuring acoustic guitars mixed with tones only a Strat can
produce. |

| A very personal
song written for my wife for our wedding day. In fact, she never heard it until the day of
the ceremony. They say that sometimes words cannot express... |

| The first song
written for this project. Featuring the smooth, peaceful sounds of the acoustic guitar, it
will always remind me of grandmother who passed away during the demo recording of this
song. |

| This song has
groove, great rhythm, and a funky vibe. The slap bass, the jazzy piano, and the dreamy
volume-swell guitar really broaden the parameters of the CD. |

| A play on words
for a song written for my 14 year old daughter Emily and my 11 year old son Michael. This
song takes me back to a time when they were little. If you listen closely, you may
recognize something familiar in the intro. |

| A song named after
a phrase used in my mom's memoirs. She said that in times of trouble and despair, she
would retreat into her "cave of solitude" to reflect and gain strength. |

| This song took on
a life of its own, especially during the last half. The combined sounds of the piano,
strings, and acoustic guitar created a very memorable ending. |

| Christopher
brought in this song he wrote for his 1 year old son Tyler. A beautiful piano piece that I
filled out with some acoustic guitar. |
