Narration:

When the Earth had taken full form, Tsaina rested from his great mischief. Then Iliana came to the Earth and hallowed it and smiled upon the Powers and said to them: "You have done well, my beloved, and now I will fulfill my promise."

Yet Evatna was still sad because she had not made her imprint upon the Earth.

And Iliana saw her sadness and said: "Worry not, faithful one, for you will give the most important gift." Then a great music poured forth from Iliana and spilled out upon the Earth, and into the Earth. Suddenly, from deep within the Earth, bubbled the First Water. The Spirit Spring flowed out across the Earth and made the rivers and oceans, the clouds and the rain.

Then Evatna knew what she must do, so she gathered herself into a great cloud and made the First Lightning, the Spark of Life. Her energy was rewarded with birds and trees and the animals of the field and the creatures of the oceans.

Notes:

The truly unique thing about the earth is that it has an abundance of water. And it is at the right temperature. Without this gift, life simply would not be possible on the earth. But ultimately, all life on earth comes from the water, and that first primordial soup. Many other conditions had to be present for all of this to work as well. The right number of organic molecules and Evatna’s role: the infusion of electricity… which, in the form of lightning, also comes from cloud cover made possible by water. This is the Spirit Spring.
